Terms

Last updated 10 October 2026

These terms cover your use of Kurgu. By joining the waitlist, opening an account or making a video, you agree to them.

Early access

Kurgu is in early access. We are letting people in a few at a time, and features, plans and prices may change while we learn what works. We will tell account holders before a change to the price of their plan takes effect. The service may sometimes be slow or unavailable while we work on it.

Your account

You need to be at least 13 to use Kurgu. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms before you pay for a plan. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account. If you open an account for a company, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.

Your content

Your briefs, messages and uploads remain yours. You allow us to store them, work with them and pass them to the services listed in our privacy page, only to make your videos and run Kurgu.

You confirm that you have the right to use what you upload, including logos, photos, footage, music and the likeness of anyone who appears in them.

The videos we make for you

The videos Kurgu makes for you are yours to use, including for commercial purposes. Some material in a video may come from public libraries under its own licence, and that licence still applies to that material.

Kurgu researches its scripts and checks claims against sources, but Kurgu can still be wrong. Watch and check every video before you publish it. You are responsible for what you publish.

What you may not use Kurgu for

If a production breaks these rules, we may stop it, and if an account keeps doing so, we may close it.

Plans and payment

Paid plans are charged monthly in US dollars through Stripe and renew each month until you cancel. Each plan comes with an amount of use each month. If you use yours up early, you can keep going, and the extra is charged at your plan's rate. You can cancel at any time; your plan then runs to the end of the month you have paid for. We do not refund part months, except where the law requires us to.

Planning your first video is free and does not need a card.

Ending your use

You can stop using Kurgu and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or fails to pay, and we will tell you why. If we ever close Kurgu, we will give account holders at least 30 days' notice so they can download their videos.

Our responsibility

We work hard to make Kurgu reliable and its videos good, but we provide it as it is, without a promise that it will suit every purpose or never fail. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law gives you as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

When we change these terms, we will update this page and its date, and tell account holders by email before a significant change takes effect. If you keep using Kurgu after that, the new terms apply.
